We know legal pages aren’t exactly bedtime reading. But we believe transparency is a form of respect — especially when you’re trusting us with something as personal as a family memory.

These terms are written to protect both of us. If anything here is unclear, please reach out. We’d rather explain it over the phone than hide behind a wall of legalese.

The AI-generated previews provided on our website are for conceptual visualization only. They do not constitute a “Proof of Work” or a final product specification.

ClearCut Custom Lab reserves the right to manually adjust, refine, or alter the 3D model for structural integrity and aesthetic accuracy before physical production. Our lab team uses AI previews as a creative starting point. Every physical keepsake is hand-refined by our designers to ensure it captures the true character of your home or heirloom.

What this means for you: The beautiful preview you see on screen is a promise of direction, not an exact blueprint. The final piece will be faithful to your memory — often even better than the preview — because a human artist will have touched every detail.

By uploading an image, the Customer represents and warrants that they own the rights to the property depicted or have the explicit permission of the owner to create a replica.

Customer agrees to indemnify ClearCut Custom Lab against any claims of copyright or trademark infringement arising from the recreation of the submitted item.

What this means for you: If you’re uploading a photo of your own family home, your grandparents’ farmhouse, or a piece of furniture from your own household — you’re all set. We simply need to confirm that the property or item you’re asking us to recreate is yours to preserve. This protects both of us from any complications down the road.

ClearCut Custom Lab reserves the right to refuse any order containing imagery that is deemed hateful, illegal, or purely commercial in a way that violates our mission of memorial and keepsake preservation.

What this means for you: Our lab exists to preserve memories, honor family histories, and create comfort during difficult transitions. We will always prioritize this mission. If an order falls outside this purpose, we’ll decline it respectfully and refund any deposit in full.

Customer images are processed via third-party AI APIs solely for the purpose of visualization. We do not use your personal memorial photos to train public AI models.

Your “Story Metadata” — the personal narratives you share with us about your home or heirloom — is stored securely and is only accessible by our Lab team for the purpose of crafting your keepsake.

What this means for you: The photo of your mother’s house and the story you tell us about growing up there will never be used for anything other than building your keepsake. Period. Your memories are private, and we treat them that way.

For our EU customers: ClearCut Custom Lab complies with applicable data protection regulations, including provisions of the EU AI Act (2024/1689). AI-generated previews are disclosed as such at the point of interaction. Customer data is processed under legitimate interest for service delivery and is not used for general-purpose AI training.

All products are custom-made to order based on your personal references. Because each keepsake is a unique recreation of your personal history, we do not offer traditional returns or exchanges.

However, we offer our Satisfaction Refinement guarantee: if the final piece does not accurately represent the property or item you commissioned, we will work with you to revise or re-craft the keepsake at no additional cost.

Design deposits are non-refundable once our lab team has begun the digital modeling process. If you need to cancel before modeling begins, we will refund your deposit in full.

All keepsakes are insured during transit. If your package arrives damaged, contact us with a photo of the damage and we will prioritize a replacement immediately — no claims process, no waiting.

ClearCut Custom Lab is not responsible for delays caused by carriers, customs, or force majeure events. We will, however, keep you informed and work to resolve any delivery issues as quickly as possible.

ClearCut Custom Lab’s total liability for any claim arising from our services shall not exceed the total amount paid by the Customer for the specific order in question.

We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including but not limited to emotional distress claims arising from the appearance of a finished keepsake. Our Satisfaction Refinement process is the exclusive remedy for any dissatisfaction with the final product.

These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which ClearCut Custom Lab operates. Any disputes shall first be addressed through good-faith communication between the Customer and our team.

Our preference: We’d rather resolve things with a phone call than a courtroom. If you have a concern, please reach out to us directly. We’re real people who care about getting this right.
